The Space Coast Georgia Tech Club
exists as a Georgia Tech Alumni Association club to recruit the finest students possible for Georgia Tech by providing scholarships to highly qualified candidates from the Space Coast Area. Because of the Bright Futures program here in Florida this has become much more difficult.
The club is very fortunate to have an endowment (The Steve and Lynne Bussey Fund) that provides funds each year for scholarship awards. However, in order to attract the best students the club needs money to host events for students as well as Alumni.
The funds for basic operation of the club come only from direct donations from local Alumni and local event ticket sales. The Club needs to host events and game watchings in order to be ranked in higher tiers with the Alumni Association. Matching funds from the Alumni Association are doled out with consideration for club tiering, the amount of monies collected, and whether a club has an endowment or not. Since the matching funds are more thinly disbursed, it is essential to increase our direct donations.
